Planning

The ASA regulates the contents of the tv adverts, sale promotions and company adverts, they stop advert that are misleading, offensive and racist in the UK. The ASA are an independant body that regulate the advertising. They cover: radio, tv, cinema, billboard advertising. Billboard advertising is called out door advertising. Anyone can complain to this company, whether its about tv advertising or cinema advertising anyone can complain. 26000 complaits have been put in last year, and 2500 were either changed or with drawn in 2008. To log a complaint you can write a letter, or on their website. First they check if the codes have been brocken. Then they go into a formal discussion with the advertising company and ask to change it. Then they will form an investigation, they do have the power to remove the advert from the public am going to put my advertisement of Nike on the tv and the Internet to advertise the Nike brand. The advert could be out after any sports program for example; Olympics, football etc. This will be good as it will be advertising a sporty brand, also my target audience of young adults and teens will be watching. The time that the advert will be shown will be between 7:30 and 9:30, this is because most young adults and teens will be watching the sports programs at that time.

Interviews:

Tom Huffinley aged 15 from leeds answered some of my questions and results show that
Tom likes to see beautiful sexy ladies in adverts, he also likes to see things what make him laugh also tom thinks cute animals catch his eye in adverts and are used very effectivly.
Beth Delany aged 14 from swinnow leeds also answered my questions
bethany likes adverts with a twist in them she doesn't like to see them boring otherwise she switches over the tele she also likes them to be realistic because if there cartoons she thinks there a joke and doesn't take them serious.
Taylor Heaps aged 15 from pudsey leeds was another lucky person who got to take my questionaire Taylor likes to see teenagers on the adverts mainly boys/men but she also likes celebrities as she looks up to them Taylor has a great sense of humour and likes to be made to laugh by adverts this also makes her remember the advert and can tell her friends about it.
Why the 50 cent advert got banned.
one of the main reasons the 50 cent reebok advert was banned is because the way 50 is big headed about his past, being shot 9 times and surviving is something extraordinary but theres thousands of people in this world today who as been shot have not been so lucky
1:
The clothes the boy is wearing is a signifier and it cannotes
there in the Victorian period. the change of music is a signifier which
cannotes theres a change in era.

the voice used in the bakery is a signifier which cannotes
the bakerys from yorkshire or a more northern place.
2:
The advert starts of at a bakery we know this from the camera angle
been a median close up; this shows what the young boy is wearing and
whats around him.

When the boys stood on the gravel the camera angle is on the gravel
looking up at him which makes him look bigger.
3:
The digetic sound of churchill on the radio signifies there in the 1940's era.

The music in the advert is non diegetic which speeds up
in the advert this signifies the change of era too.
4:
The voice of winston churchill is diegetic and it show what era there in.
5:
The music bed increases in pace as the boy starts to run faster.

The music bed slows down in pace when things start to go bad
like world war 2 and all the houses are demolished the slow pace
in music cannotes suffering from the effects of war.
6:
Historical Culture plays an inportant role in the advert; you can understand
which year it is in. For example the cobbled streets show
that it isn't in the modern era as yet.

Do you like to see celebrities endorsing products ?

As you can see the graph shows that people prefer to see celebrities more than often.

I am going to put my advertisement of Nike on the tv and the Internet to advertise the Nike brand. The advert could be out after any sports program for example; Olympics, football etc. This will be good as it will be advertising a sporty brand, also my target audience of young adults and teens will be watching. The time that the advert will be shown will be between 7:30 and 9:30, this is because most young adults and teens will be watching the sports programs at that tim

this is the results from peoples favourite adverts.

From this Questionnaire i have found that compare the market and sma baby milk adverts are most preferd whereas safestyle windows didn't get a vote.

This graph shows the results from peoples favourite genres.

from this questionnaire i have found out comedy is preferred and sport was a no go, with these results i am thinking on doing a comedy advert when i make mine.

Honda advert;

The lines of appeal which are apparent in this advert include; dreams and fantasy because he is dreaming about him being a racing driver in all the different cars that Honda have made in the past and the present. He could be imagining that he is someone like James Bond from the way he acts and how he is driving the vehicles at high speeds. The advert includes powerful music which makes me think that he is fantasising about been a hero. Another line of appeal is nature and the real word because all the scenes include him been outside e.g. countryside.

The factors of persuasion in this advert are: reward power, because you would get to feel like you have power in the fancy cars and higher status.

I think the target audience for this advert would be mainly middle aged men because they tend to drive the fancy cars more than the other age groups.

Dell advert;

The lines of appeal which are apparent in this advert would be: comedy and humour and dreams and fantasy. I think this because when the men are all singing it keeps us entertained and hooks us into the advert. Also I think dreams and fantasy because they use bright colours and unrealistic things to make the laptops.

The factors of persuasion in this advert is reward power because you would feel like you have the best laptop there is with all the different bright colours to choose from, and you would get to have a lot of fun; just like the men in the advert.

I think the advert is aimed at teenagers or children because the bright colours would appeal to them more.

Idea 1-
The whole of the advert it will be located in the school grounds and the advert will include different camera shots such as: close up on the Nike logo on the clothing/trainers, another shot that we will use is a long shot. It will include a non digetic bed. It will also include a logo and a slogan as it will make the advert more believable to the viewer. The narrative of the advert is two people having a race one wearing Nike and the other wearing a different brand and the person wearing Nike win the race and shows how "if you wear Nike you become more of an athlete".
Idea 2-

Are other idea for are advertisment, is that there are two runners one wearing Nike and the other is wearing a different brand, and they both training for a race and the one wearing Nike seem to make it look very easy where as the other runner finds it hard as he has no comfort and isn't been able to train like normal. Shots that will be used will be close ups, medium shots and long shots, these will be used so the viewer will be able to see different angles of the runner and see how they both differ. The advert again will be located in school grounds.
